About the office

The Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) looks after student welfare, development and campus life at DEBESMSCAT. It runs student services from admission to graduation: guidance and health care, financial help and campus jobs, student organizations and leadership training, sports, culture and the arts, and career and job placement.

OSAS works from its newly refurbished building on the main campus.

Office of Sports and Athletics

Varsity teams, intramurals and athletic meets.
Office of Admission

College entrance test, application and enrolment of new students.
Office of Library Services

Books, journals, e-resources and study spaces.
Office of Culture & Arts

Performing and visual arts groups, festivals and cultural shows.
Office of Guidance Services

Counseling, testing, orientation and student well-being.
Office of Medical Services

Health checks, first aid, dental care and health records.

Programs and services

Student Employment Opportunity Program (SEOP) Part-time work on campus during vacant hours, so students can pay for rent and projects and stay in school.
Career and Job Placement A free Job Placement Office, set up with DOLE Masbate, for job referrals, career coaching and labor market information for students, graduates and alumni.
Student Organizations and Leadership Training (SOLTS) Support for the Supreme Student Council, college councils and student organizations, including the yearly SIKLAB leadership training.
Student welfare Help for students in need, such as the Noche Buena packages for students without scholarships, and the Clean and Green boarding house evaluation.

Message from the President

Ladies and gentlemen,

As the newly-installed SUC President of DEBESMSCAT, I am truly humbled and honored to assume this role. It is my goal in my 4-year term to share with you my vision and advocacy, which centers around the power of unity and collaboration, embodied by the acronym TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.

Leadership, to me, is not about commanding from the top or solely relying on individual brilliance. It is about recognizing the immense potential within each member of our institution and harnessing that collective strength to achieve remarkable things. True leadership requires humility, the ability to listen, learn, and empower others.

As we embark on this journey together, my aim is to cultivate an environment where every member of DEBESMSCAT feels valued, respected, and inspired to contribute their best. Together, we can achieve more than any one person could on their own.

I firmly believe that by fostering a culture of teamwork, we can overcome challenges, spark innovation, and bring about transformative change. Each of us possesses unique talents and perspectives that, when combined, form a powerful force for progress. By embracing diversity, encouraging collaboration, and fostering open communication, we can create a vibrant community that thrives on shared achievements.

Furthermore, leadership with humility is at the core of my approach. I understand that my role as President is not one of authority, but rather one of service. I am here to support and uplift every member of the DEBESMSCAT family, working hand in hand to cultivate an environment that promotes personal growth, academic excellence, and holistic development.
