PASUC Elects 2026–2028 National Executive Committee; DEBESMSCAT President Dr. Millesca Serves on COMELEC

The Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) has officially proclaimed its newly elected and reelected National Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term during the 2026 PASUC Annual Convention and General Assembly, bringing together presidents and leaders of state universities and colleges (SUCs) from across the country.

Reelected as PASUC National President is Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of Batangas State University – The National Engineering University. Joining him in the national executive committee are Dr. Diosdado Zulueta, President of Marinduque State University, as Auditor; Dr. Bert J. Tuga, President of Philippine Normal University (PNU) – The National Center for Teacher Education, as Vice President for the National Capital Region (NCR); Dr. Silverio Ramon Salunson, President of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), as Vice President for Luzon; Dr. Norberto Mangulabnan, President of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University, as Vice President for the Visayas; and Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, President of Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology, as Vice President for Mindanao.

The national election was administered by the PASUC Commission on Elections (COMELEC), with DEBESMSCAT SUC President III Dr. Arnel B. Millesca serving as one of its members. His participation helped ensure the orderly, transparent, and credible conduct of the electoral process that determined the association’s new set of national officers.

Meanwhile, Dr. Geraldine B. De Jesus, President of Sorsogon State University, was elected as President of the PASUC Bicol Chapter, reflecting the continued trust and confidence of Bicol SUC leaders in her leadership and commitment to advancing higher education in the region.

The newly elected PASUC Executive Committee is expected to spearhead initiatives that strengthen collaboration among state universities and colleges, promote academic excellence and innovation, and advance policies that support quality, accessible, and globally competitive public higher education in the Philippines.

The election was one of the highlights of the 2026 PASUC Annual Convention and General Assembly, which convened SUC presidents and higher education leaders nationwide under the theme of transformative leadership and strategic empowerment for sustainable and inclusive development.
