JUST IN: DEBESMSCAT Delegates Attend Regional Women’s Day Celebration

SORSOGON CITY — Dr. Joey Pardeño, Gender and Development (GAD) Director of Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT), together with Ms. Hanna Shemaida Briobo, CIT GAD Alternate, are currently attending the Second Regional Women’s Day Celebration today, March 10, 2026, at the Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium.

The event, organized by the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) in the Bicol Region, gathers representatives from government agencies, state universities and colleges, and partner institutions to celebrate women’s leadership and contributions to nation-building.

This year’s celebration continues the tradition of recognizing and empowering women across the region while promoting gender equality and inclusive development.

Dr. Pardeño’s and Ms. Briobo’s participation highlights DEBESMSCAT’s strong commitment to advancing gender-responsive programs and initiatives through its Gender and Development Office. Their attendance also reflects the institution’s active involvement in regional efforts that promote women’s empowerment and leadership.

The celebration forms part of the nationwide observance of National Women’s Month, which aims to recognize the vital role of women in shaping communities and fostering sustainable development.
