DEBESMSCAT Personnel undergo BOSH-SO1 Training

DEBESMSCAT personnel led by the DRRMO Director, Mr. Wilfred C. Pagorogon, participated in the 2-day Basic Occupational Safety and Health-Safety Officer 1 training last June 18-19, 2025 via online. The event was freely sponsored by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and open for all government workers and personnel.

The 2-day intensive training is a mandatory training course in pursuance with Republic Act No. 11058 and DOLE Department Order 198 s. 2018. It is an eight-hour OSH orientation plus two-hour Training of Trainers designed to impart knowledge and skills on basic concepts and principles of occupational safety and health to enable safety officers to implement their respective company’s safety and health program.

Aside from being mandatory, the BOSH SO1 training is vital in creating a safe, healthy, and legally compliant work environment. It empowers individuals to act as frontline advocates of occupational safety and health, making a significant impact on both organizational success and employee protection.

There were a total of 45 participants in the training and 16 of them came from the institution.
