
Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology recently collaborated with Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in Indonesia for a Kuliah Tamu Lecturer Program, a key step in their partnership under the signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). On May 27, 2025, Dr. Alvin M. Mahawan, Assistant Professor of the College of Education, shared insights on Information Technology Education with students and faculty at UB. The lecture focused on practical topics like the latest trends in teaching IT, how technology can improve classroom learning, and ways to prepare students for careers in the tech field. The session encouraged questions and discussions, allowing participants to share their experiences and ideas.

This event is part of a larger partnership between the two universities to boost international cooperation. Stipulated in the signed MOA which aims to promote faculty exchanges, joint research, and student programs. By sharing expertise in IT education, both institutions hope to equip students and staff with skills that work globally.
“This collaboration helps us learn from each other. Working with UB allows us to create better opportunities for faculty and students everywhere” said Dr. Mahawan. Moving forward, the partnership plans to launch activities like short-term teacher exchanges, student study-abroad programs, and joint research projects. Universitas Brawijaya, a top-ranked university in Indonesia, is known for its focus on technology, agriculture, and social sciences, making it a strong partner for shared goals.
