
August 14, 2025 – The DEBESMSCAT Supreme Student Council (SSC) officially kicked off the academic year 2025–2026 with a highly engaging general assembly held at the college covered court. The event served as a platform to introduce newly elected officers, present the council’s constitution and by-laws, unveil priority programs, and encourage active student participation. It was a moment of renewed energy, unity, and commitment to student representation.
The assembly began with Dr. Ella P. Lotivio, SSC Adviser, warmly welcoming all students to the new academic year. In her message, she emphasized the importance of collaboration between student leaders and the student body, setting a positive tone for the event. Dr. Lotivio also proudly introduced the SSC officers for Academic Year 2025–2026, highlighting their dedication to serve. Ms. Zaira Joy S. Maglente, SSC Chairperson and Student Trustee, took the stage to present the SSC Constitution and By-Laws—the guiding framework for student governance. She also outlined the priority programs for the year, focusing on student welfare, academic support, leadership development, and community engagement.
Ms. Maglente also shared the council’s accomplishments from June to August 2025, which included successful student activities, leadership training, and initiatives that strengthened campus life. Ms. Christine Dianne M. Laurio, Internal Vice Chairperson, unveiled the calendar of activities for the first semester, providing students with an exciting lineup of events, academic programs, and community service projects. Demonstrating the SSC’s commitment to accountability, the Senator on Finance presented the financial report, ensuring that students are informed about the proper allocation and use of funds.
The highlight of the assembly was the student consultation session led by Mr. Tyril Costramo. This open forum allowed students to voice concerns, share suggestions, and actively participate in decision-making. Attendees were also able to exercise their right to vote, ensuring that student representation remains democratic and inclusive.
The DEBESMSCAT SSC General Assembly was more than just a meeting—it was a call to action for students to unite and work together for the betterment of campus life. By fostering transparency, inclusivity, and collaboration, the SSC reinforced its role as the voice of the student body.With the 2025–2026 academic year now in full swing, the DEBESMSCAT Supreme Student Council has set a clear vision and actionable plans to empower students, enhance campus experiences, and uphold student rights.
