DEBESMSCAT initiates renewal of partnership with Taiwan-based agritech company AgriGaia

DEBESMSCAT held a meeting to renew its partnership with AgriGaia Social Enterprise on November 27, 2024, online via Microsoft Teams. Based in Kaohsiung City in Taiwan, AgriGaia Social Enterprise is a company that endeavors to promote a multifunctional and sustainable sub-surface irrigation system that mimics natural processes in the delivery of water and nutrients to crop roots and soil microorganisms.

During the meeting, the two institutions discussed continuing the implementation of the student internship program, wherein student interns from DEBESMSCAT will go to Taiwan to learn the technical skills needed to operate AgriGaia Social Enterprise’s agricultural technology under the said company’s supervision. In addition, the two institutions also discussed DEBESMSCAT’s possible site visit in Taiwan for the signing of the Memorandum of Partnership Agreement and to establish linkages with other agricultural institutions in the country.

This partnership highlights DEBESMSCAT’s commitment not only to promote global understanding among its community members but also to contribute to the socioeconomic transformation of the Province of Masbate by forwarding innovative solutions to its agricultural challenges. The DEBESMSCAT delegation was composed of President Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Elreen A. Delavin, College of Agriculture Dean Dr. Donata L.
