DEBESMSCAT Ramps Up Day Two of the 2nd IRODEO Conference 2025

June 17, 2025 – The Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) successfully concluded the second day of the 2nd International Research Opportunities, Development, and Extension Outcomes (IRODEO) Conference 2025 at Liceo de Masbate, City of Masbate.

The second day featured four distinguished plenary speakers from various countries, each sharing their expertise in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Chemistry, Agriculture, Technology, and Gender and Development.

Kicking off the plenary sessions was Dr. Muhammad Ali Fauzi from Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia, who discussed “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Emerging Technology and Shaping Future Societies.” Dr. Fauzi emphasized how AI can revolutionize various sectors and influence the trajectory of future human development.

Next was Dr. Fidelis Ngugi, a Chemist and Dean from Tharaka University in Kenya, Africa. She presented “Green Chemistry Innovation for a Sustainable Future: Advancing Environmental Research and Extension Collaborations,”highlighting the significance of eco-friendly scientific practices in achieving long-term environmental goals.

Dr. Gina Opiniano, a National Gender and Development (GAD) Pool Member of the Philippine Commission on Women, served as the third plenary speaker. Her presentation, “Bridging the Gender Gap in Research and Development: Strategies for Inclusive Progress,” tackled the importance of gender mainstreaming in scientific and academic fields.

Concluding the plenary talks was Dr. Chun-Yuan Chen, a Smart Agriculture Systems Consultant and Ph.D. holder in Bio-Industrial Mechatronics Engineering from National Chung Hsing University. Dr. Chen shared how the integration of automation and environmental control technologies in agricultural systems can improve operational efficiency and ensure consistent, high-quality production.

An open forum followed the plenary talks, allowing onsite and online participants to raise questions, share insights, and clarify key points.

In the afternoon session, onsite participants presented their research entries under various thematic tracks. These presentations were evaluated by a panel of judges composed of representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office V – Bicol Region, DEBESMSCAT officials, including directors, deans, and vice presidents.

The second day culminated with the recognition and awarding of the research presenters.

The final day of the 2nd IRODEO Conference 2025 is set to highlight the official announcement of winners across various research categories, marking the culmination of this international academic gathering.
