DEBESMSCAT Presents Universityhood Agenda in Courtesy Visit to Sen. Legarda

DEBESMSCAT SUC President III Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, together with Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Elreen A. Delavin, paid a courtesy visit to Senator Loren Legarda, where they presented a Plaque of Recognition in appreciation of her service as the commencement speaker during the College’s recent 31st Commencement Exercises.

During the meeting, Dr. Millesca briefed Senator Legarda on DEBESMSCAT’s priority programs and development agenda, including areas where the senator’s continued support could help advance the institution’s academic, research, infrastructure, and extension initiatives, as well as contribute to the development of the Province of Masbate.

The discussion also centered on the latest developments in DEBESMSCAT’s bid for university status. Dr. Millesca shared updates on the institution’s progress toward meeting the requirements for conversion into a state university and underscored the significance support in realizing the institution’s long-term vision of expanding access to quality higher education and strengthening its contribution to regional and national development.

The meeting reaffirmed DEBESMSCAT’s commitment to forging strong partnerships with national leaders in advancing educational excellence, institutional growth, and sustainable development for the benefit of the people of Masbate.

As the newly-installed SUC President of DEBESMSCAT, I am truly humbled and honored to assume this role. It is my goal in my 4-year term to share with you my vision and advocacy, which centers around the power of unity and collaboration, embodied by the acronym TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.

Leadership, to me, is not about commanding from the top or solely relying on individual brilliance. It is about recognizing the immense potential within each member of our institution and harnessing that collective strength to achieve remarkable things. True leadership requires humility, the ability to listen, learn, and empower others.

As we embark on this journey together, my aim is to cultivate an environment where every member of DEBESMSCAT feels valued, respected, and inspired to contribute their best. Together, we can achieve more than any one person could on their own.
