DEBESMSCAT participates in National Public Consultation on Open Distance and e-Learning policies and guidelines

July 17, 2024 – Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, President of DEBESMSCAT, attended the National Public Consultation on the proposed policies and guidelines on Open Distance and e-Learning (ODeL). The event, hosted at Twin Lakes Hotel, Tagaytay, was organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) through its Office of Programs and Standards Development (OPSD). This significant gathering brought together key leaders from higher education institutions (HEIs) across the country, including Presidents, Heads, or Officers-in-Charge, Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs, faculty, staff, students, CHED Regional Office Directors or Officers-in-Charge, Supervisors, and other stakeholders. The CHED Central Office was represented by Commissioner Ethel Agnes P. Valenzuela, who is also a member of the Technical Panel.

The primary aim of this public consultation was to gather feedback and insights on the proposed policies and guidelines, ensuring they are well-aligned with the needs and expectations of the educational community. The consultation is part of CHED’s commitment to enhancing the accessibility and quality of higher education through innovative and flexible learning modalities.
