Cabitan, Mandaon, Masbate — The spirit of camaraderie and athletic excellence filled the campus of Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) as the institution officially opened the DAMGOLYMPICS 2026 on March 15, 2026 at the DEBESMSCAT Main Campus.
The celebration began early in the morning with a parade around the campus, showcasing the vibrant participation of student-athletes, faculty members, and staff from the various colleges. Delegations proudly displayed their banners and colors, symbolizing unity, school pride, and sportsmanship.

The opening program commenced with an opening prayer led by Dr. Ella P. Lotivio, followed by the Philippine National Anthem performed by the DEBESMSCAT Marching Band. Dr. Elreen A. Delavin, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of sports in building discipline, teamwork, and holistic student development.
One of the highlights of the program was the presentation of delegations, where the participating colleges introduced their teams and mascots. The competing contingents included:
- College of Agriculture – Mighty Toros
- College of Computing and Information Technology – Cyber Wolves
- College of Business, Tourism and Economics – Golden Lion
- Cagayan Campus – Pink Manta Ray
- College of Engineering – Maroon Beavers
- College of Education – Blue Phoenix
- College of Industrial Technology – Black Panther
The ceremony also featured the hoisting of banners of the different contingents, symbolizing unity among the colleges, followed by the hoisting of the DEBESMSCAT banner led by Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, SUC President III, together with the Vice presidents and Deans.
Adding to the excitement of the event was the lighting of the ceremonial torch, marking the official start of the athletic competitions. Wenzy Malabosa then led the Oath of Sportsmanship, reminding participants to compete with integrity, fairness, and respect.
In his message, Dr. Arnel B. Millesca encouraged the student-athletes to embody the true spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the week-long celebration.
The games were formally opened with the Declaration of the DAMGOLYMPICS 2026 Open by Mr. Gerald O. Ramo, Director of Sports and Athletics, signaling the start of the much-anticipated sporting competitions.
Following the formal program, the audience enjoyed a marching band presentation, a mass demonstration and barn dance competition, creating a festive atmosphere across the campus.
The DAMGOLYMPICS 2026, scheduled from March 15 to 19, aims to strengthen camaraderie among students, promote physical wellness, and celebrate the vibrant athletic culture of DEBESMSCAT.
Through sports, DEBESMSCAT continues to foster unity, excellence, and school pride among its diverse academic communities.
