
DEBESMSCAT officials actively participated in the recently concluded 2023 PASUC Convention held last August 9-11, 2023 at SMX Convention Center, Manila, with a theme: Fostering Innovation and Collaboration in SUCs Towards Increasing Competitiveness and Sustainability.” The convention was truly a significant milestone in the pursuit of excellence in higher education in the Philippines.
The College sent 12 delegates including the SUC President III, Dr. Arnel B. Millesca in this Post-pandemic PASUC Annual Convention along with other designated officials, such as: Dr. Erwin H. Malto, VPAF, Dr. Rodolfo B. Burac, Jr. VPAA, Dr. Arnold I. Malag, CEng Dean, Dr. Bernard M. Barruga, CE Dean, Ms. Iris B. Castillo, Cawayan Campus Administrator, Ms. Rowelyn M. Ramiso, CAS Dean. Engr. Nenette M. Laurio, PaDS Director, Dr. Raiza M. Padasas, EdEL Department Head, Dr. Donata L. Valler, CA Dean, Engr. Elmo C. Rapsing, Jr., CIT Dean, and Engr. Aimelyn B. Zarragoza, HR officer.
The event brought together academic leaders, educators, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders from various State Universities and Colleges across the country. The main goal was to share best practices, cutting-edge research, and innovative ideas aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of SUCs in an ever-evolving global landscape.
The convention featured an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and presentations that covered a wide range of topics, from Digital Governance, Internationalization of HEIs, Futures Thinking, Building a Smart Campus Through Data-Driven Digital Twin, to research advancements, from industry partnerships to the integration of technology in education. These discussions underscored the importance of collaboration and innovation in propelling SUCs to the forefront of educational excellence and contributing significantly to the nation’s progress. The convention also provided an excellent platform for networking, allowing participants to establish valuable connections with fellow educators, industry leaders, and government representatives.
