DEBESMSCAT Personnel Attends 2-Day Modernized PhilGEPS Training

DEBESMSCAT personnel along with government agencies across the country participated in a two-day Modernized Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) Training held on August 6–7, 2025 via an online. The training aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of government personnel, particularly those in the procurement and BAC offices, in utilizing the upgraded features of the Modernized PhilGEPS, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and compliance with procurement laws.

Organized by the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB) and Procurement Service- Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM), the Modernized PhilGEPS training session brought together procurement officers, supply officers, and other personnel involved in the bidding and procurement process. The training included different topics such as how to navigate into the e-procurement system – a centralized Electronic Bulletin Board for posting procurement opportunities, notices, awards, and reasons for awarding, official merchant registry, and how to properly conduct electronic bidding.

In attendance were Mr. Ariel Monton, BAC Secretariat, Mr. Jerome David, BAC Secretariat member, Mr. Mark John R. Montilla, Internal Auditor III, Mr. Mark Rofran B. Mendiola, Internal Auditor I, and Ms. Maffi Gieson S. Asilum, Information Officer III.

With the successful completion of the 2-day Modernized PhilGEPS Training, DEBESMSCAT is expected to implement more efficient and transparent procurement processes, ultimately contributing to better public service delivery among its stakeholders.
