The Quality Assurance Office initiated a 3-day virtual training on Interpreting and Documenting ISO 9001:2016 –An Advanced Training for Process Owners on September 7-9, 2021 and a 4-day training workshop for ISO 190011: 2018 Auditing Management Systems for Internal Auditors on September 14-17, 2021.
The first 3-day training was participated by 45 personnel and the discussion was facilitated by the resource speaker, Engr. Grace P. Daria of SHENDAR International Certifications. The 4-day training workshop for designated internal auditors of DEBESMSCAT was also conducted virtually via Zoom and was also facilitated by the resource speakers from SHENDAR International Certifications.
“These [training workshops] are initial steps to ensure that the services we are offering are consistent with the requirements and expectations of our clients and other interested parties in the most efficient manner possible,” according to Dr. Morena C. Buayan, Director of Quality Assurance at DEBESMSCAT and also the main organizer of the ISO training workshops.
“The presence of the internal auditors is central to the success of the Quality management Systems. The recently concluded training is the first step in securing quality –driven future. The Internal Auditors will determine and continually monitor the effectiveness of the QMS. Their learnings are highly beneficial in having a solid understanding of the requirements and processes involved in the audit. They will help prepare for the certification process,” she added.
Finally, the training workshops were essential and relevant in strengthening the Quality Management System of the College as it embarks on its journey to universityhood.
