DEBESMSCAT and DTI Join Forces for Masbate Fab Lab Enhancement

September 1, 2025 – In a significant step toward advancing technical education and research capacity, the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) formalized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and usufruct agreement with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The partnership aims to elevate the DEBESMSCAT Fabrication Laboratory situated within the DTI Regional Center in Rawis, Legazpi City.The ceremonial signing featured key representatives from both institutions. SUC President III Dr. Arnel B. Millesca led the DEBESMSCAT delegation, accompanied by Mr. Francis Kyle Malto, the faculty in charge of the Fab Lab. From DTI, Regional Director Dindo G. Nabol and Masbate Provincial Director Joseph D. Rañola represented the agency.Through this agreement, Mr. Malto received ₱4.7 million pesos in funding specifically allocated for the enhancement of the fabrication lab. The investment will enable the acquisition of advanced laboratory equipment and machinery, significantly enriching the hands-on learning experiences for students and bolstering the college’s research and innovation capabilities.
