DEBESMSCAT Conducts Comprehensive Mock Audit in Pursuit of ISO 9001:2015 Certification

October 14 to 15, 2025 – The Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) took another step toward ISO 9001:2015 certification through a two-day face-to-face mock audit conducted by ISO Consultant Engr. Helen A. Evalle, General Manager of HAE Consultancy and Training Services, on October 14–15, 2025.

The activity covered key institutional offices and services, including the Financial Management Services, Records and Archives Office, Management Information Services, Medical and Dental Services, General Library, Registrar, and Planning and Development Services. Each office underwent a comprehensive review of systems and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO quality standards.

Engr. Evalle also conducted coaching and mentoring sessions to guide process owners in refining their operations and documentation toward alignment with ISO requirements.

Vice President for Research, Development, Extension, Innovation, Creative Works, and Knowledge Management Dr. Rodolfo B. Burac Jr., who serves as ISO focal person, led the activity. Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Erwin H. Malto likewise joined the audit sessions in support of the institution’s quality management efforts.

The mock audit, spearheaded by the Office of Quality Assurance, follows an earlier online audit conducted in previous months involving top management and support services. It forms part of DEBESMSCAT’s ongoing initiatives to institutionalize quality assurance and continuous improvement under the leadership of President Dr. Arnel B. Millesca.

The two-day exercise marks a significant milestone in DEBESMSCAT’s pursuit of ISO 9001:2015 certification, aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with international quality management standards.
