DEBESMSCAT Champions GEDSI at Regional Leadership Forum

Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) reaffirmed its commitment to social equity by participating in the 2026 GEDSI Leadership Forum on March 24, 2026, held at The Marison Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay.

Hosted by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Region V, the forum serves as a strategic platform to strengthen Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) across government institutions in the Bicol Region.

The event emphasized that strengthening GEDSI is a core obligation for government institutions in the national effort to build an equitable society. Despite existing policies, structural barriers continue to affect women, persons with disabilities, the LGBTQ+ community, and other marginalized groups, necessitating the sustained and deliberate action highlighted during the forum.

The DEBESMSCAT delegation was led by GAD Director Dr. Joey V. Pardeño, alongside a dedicated team of GAD coordinators including Rogie A. Saldivar, Dr. Nikki Faith A. Bantillo, Morwin L. Lawagon, Teresa A. Aguilar, Mary Ane-Joy P. Ferriol, Engr. Nacel C. Altizon, and Hanna Shemaida L. Briobo. By participating in this regional assembly, the institution aims to broaden its leadership capacity and advance approaches that meaningfully reduce inequality.

This engagement reinforces the college’s commitment to a public service that is principled, inclusive, and genuinely responsive, ensuring that no one in the Bicol Region is left behind.
