DEBESMSCAT Brings Christmas Cheer to 400 Non-Scholarship Students Through Noche Buena Aid

December 19, 2025 – In the spirit of compassion and inclusivity this Christmas season, the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) has successfully distributed Noche Buena packages to 400 identified and qualified students who are not beneficiaries of any scholarship program.

The initiative was led by the Office of the President under SUC President III Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, in close coordination with the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS). The distribution was carried out following the completion of the students’ final examinations, ensuring that assistance reached its intended recipients in a timely and organized manner.

According to OSAS Director Ms. Grace Abella, the beneficiaries were carefully identified to prioritize students who have limited access to financial assistance. She emphasized that the program aims to ensure that no student is left behind during the holiday season, particularly those who continue their studies without the support of scholarships or grants.

The Noche Buena packages were made possible through pooled donations from various generous individuals and organizations, including support from the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC). The collaboration highlights strong inter-institutional solidarity and a shared commitment to advancing student welfare beyond institutional boundaries.

Dr. Millesca noted that the initiative reflects DEBESMSCAT’s enduring commitment to fostering compassion, unity, and shared responsibility within the academic community. He added that programs such as this embody the College’s core values and its mantra, “Together, Everyone Achieves More,” especially during meaningful occasions like Christmas.
