DEBESMSCAT Strengthens Quality and Innovation through Benchmarking with the Country’s First Polytechnic University

In pursuit of academic excellence and transformational leadership, Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, President of Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT), led a benchmarking activity at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP)—the nation’s first and largest polytechnic university.

Joining Dr. Millesca were Mr. Allan O. Delos Reyes, Board Secretary V, and Engr. Genesis A. Tumbaga, Public Information Officer of the College. The delegation explored key areas crucial to institutional development and global competitiveness, including the Quality Assurance Center, Office of International Affairs, Alumni Relations and Career Development, Procurement Management Office, University Records Management Office, and the Computer Engineering Department.

The DEBESMSCAT team was warmly welcomed by Dr. Sanjay P. Claudio, Director of the PUP Quality Assurance Center, who provided a comprehensive discussion on PUP’s strategic quality assurance initiatives. He emphasized how their center supports the university’s accreditation and quality processes across its 22 campuses nationwide.

“We are grateful for this opportunity to benchmark with a leading institution like PUP. The insights gained from this visit will help strengthen our systems and processes, benefiting not only our students but the entire academic community,” said Dr. Millesca.

By engaging with institutions of higher learning and sharing best practices, DEBESMSCAT continues to live its mantra: “Where Transformation Begins.”
