New School Year, New Beginnings: DEBESMSCAT Welcomes AY 2026–2027

The Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) formally welcomed the Academic Year 2026–2027 today, August 10, 2026, through an opening ceremony held in connection with the kick-off celebration of ASEAN Month 2026.

The ceremony opened with a solemn Holy Mass led by Rev. Fr. Tristan Briones, setting a meaningful and reflective start to the new academic year.

Part of the program was the presentation of the Supreme Student Council (SSC) and College Student Council (CSC) officers, together with selected students, highlighting the active participation and representation of the student body in the institution’s academic and co-curricular activities.

The opening of classes also marked the arrival of a new generation of learners, with more than 2,500 first-year students joining the DEBESMSCAT community as the institution welcomed students back to campus for the first week of classes.

Adding warmth to the first day of classes, the SSC, in collaboration with the DEBESMSCAT Administration, provided hot meals to students as part of the efforts to welcome and support learners at the start of the new academic year.
