A tripartite partnership aimed at strengthening academic collaboration and advancing research and extension initiatives was formalized as the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT), Liceo de Masbate, and Osmeña Colleges signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) during the 3rd International Research Opportunities, Development, and Extension Outcomes (IRODEO) Conference.
The agreement underscores the shared commitment of the three institutions to promote cooperation in research, instruction, and extension programs, aligning with the conference’s thrust of fostering global synergies for sustainable development.
Representing DEBESMSCAT were Dr. Rodolfo B. Burac Jr., Vice President for Research, Extension, Innovation, Creative Works, and Knowledge Management; Dr. Alvin M. Mahawan, Director for Research and Publication Services; and Mr. Dennis G. Corlet, TAEXS Director.
From Osmeña Colleges, President Miguel Luis V. Peliño led the delegation, with the MOA signed by Dr. Freddie T. Bernal, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), on behalf of the institution. Serving as witnesses were Dr. Renee A. Lamela, Dean of Osmeña Colleges Graduate School and Director for Research and Development, and Dr. Nenita Lanuza Marcos, Director for Campus Development.
Meanwhile, Liceo de Masbate was represented by its president, Rev. Fr. Jenious A. Mansalay, who conveyed the institution’s strong support for the partnership geared toward enhancing academic excellence and community engagement.
The tripartite MOA is expected to open opportunities for collaborative research projects, joint extension initiatives, faculty and student exchanges, and strengthened knowledge-sharing among the partner institutions.
The signing further highlights DEBESMSCAT’s commitment to expanding institutional linkages and reinforcing its role as a catalyst for innovation and sustainable development in the region through the IRODEO Conference.
