DEBESMSCAT Commences Bahasa Indonesia Language Program to Bolster ASEAN Integration

February 28, 2026- The Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) officially commenced its Bahasa Indonesia Language Program: Cross-Cultural Language Learning Towards ASEAN Integration today via online with active participation from students, faculty members, and personnel of the institution. 

The online program, conducted via Zoom, forms part of the institution’s continuing efforts to strengthen internationalization initiatives and promote cross-cultural understanding within the ASEAN region. The activity aligns with national higher education policies encouraging global engagement and intercultural collaboration among Philippine higher education institutions.

Spearheaded through the partnership between DEBESMSCAT and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia through its Education and Culture Attaché, the program provides participants with an opportunity to develop foundational communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia while fostering cultural appreciation and regional cooperation.

The two-hour weekly sessions aim to equip participants with Level I proficiency in speaking the Bahasa Indonesia language, preparing them for advancement to Level II of the program.

Faculty members, students, and personnel who joined the opening session expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, recognizing its value in enhancing global competence, academic collaboration, and cultural exchange within Southeast Asia.

The launch marks another milestone in DEBESMSCAT’s commitment to producing globally competitive graduates and professionals while strengthening educational ties across ASEAN member states.
