DEBESMSCAT and DepEd Masbate Province Partner for Province-Wide “MasRESEARCH” Research Teacher Assessment

DEBESMSCAT and DepEd Masbate Province sealed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) today for MasRESEARCH: Masbate Assessment of Research Teaching Competence. Present at the signing for DEBESMSCAT were Dr. Arnel B. Millesca (SUC President III), Dr. Rodolfo B. Burac, Jr. (Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation), Dr. Alvin M. Mahawan (Director, Office of Research and Publication Services), and Prof. Dennis G. Corlet (Director, Office of Extension Services).

Representing DepEd Masbate Province were Mr. Joel Caolboy (Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and OIC, Office of the Schools Division Superintendent), Mr. Alexander G. Poldo (Senior Education Program Specialist), Ms. Marma L. Capellan (CID Chief ES), and Mr. Paul Jowen Blancaver (Senior Education Program Specialist).

The purpose of this partnership is to conduct a province-wide assessment of teachers’ competence in teaching research subjects across all public and private schools in Masbate Province. This initiative includes planning, instrument development, data collection, analysis, reporting, and the dissemination of results.

The project will cover all teachers currently handling research-related subjects across various levels, including Junior High School, Senior High School, and specialized research programs.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in elevating the quality of research education in the province, ensuring that both educators and students are empowered through data-driven excellence.

As the newly-installed SUC President of DEBESMSCAT, I am truly humbled and honored to assume this role. It is my goal in my 4-year term to share with you my vision and advocacy, which centers around the power of unity and collaboration, embodied by the acronym TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.

Leadership, to me, is not about commanding from the top or solely relying on individual brilliance. It is about recognizing the immense potential within each member of our institution and harnessing that collective strength to achieve remarkable things. True leadership requires humility, the ability to listen, learn, and empower others.

As we embark on this journey together, my aim is to cultivate an environment where every member of DEBESMSCAT feels valued, respected, and inspired to contribute their best. Together, we can achieve more than any one person could on their own.
