Strengthening Quality Education: DEBESMSCAT Holds 3-Day General Orientation and Accreditation Workshop

The drive toward continuous improvement took center stage as the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) conducts a comprehensive three-day General Orientation and Workshop on Institutional Accreditation on which started today November 17, 2025 until November 19, 2025 at the College Function Hall.

Quality Assurance Director Ms. Rocel Turco formally opened the program, extending a warm welcome to facilitators and the designated task force who are committed to elevating the institution’s standards. She emphasized the college’s proactive efforts in preparing for the upcoming institutional accreditation and highlighted the workshop’s significance in aligning DEBESMSCAT’s processes with national quality benchmarks.

Joining via Zoom, SUC President III Dr. Arnel B. Millesca delivered an inspiring message of support. He underscored the importance of teamwork and strategic preparation as DEBESMSCAT continues its journey toward excellence and transformation. His message reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to quality education and institutional development.

A major highlight of the event was the in-depth discussion led by the Executive Director of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Dr. Milabel E. Ho. Participants received a thorough walkthrough of the accreditation instrument to be used during the actual accreditation. The session provided clarity on standards, indicators, and documentary requirements, enabling the college units to fully understand the expectations for each area of assessment.

The day ended with full of enthusiasm, renewed confidence and readiness for DEBESMSCAT’s accreditation journey—another step forward in the institution’s mission to deliver high-quality, transformative education for the Masbateño community.

Ladies and gentlemen,

As the newly-installed SUC President of DEBESMSCAT, I am truly humbled and honored to assume this role. It is my goal in my 4-year term to share with you my vision and advocacy, which centers around the power of unity and collaboration, embodied by the acronym TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More.

Leadership, to me, is not about commanding from the top or solely relying on individual brilliance. It is about recognizing the immense potential within each member of our institution and harnessing that collective strength to achieve remarkable things. True leadership requires humility, the ability to listen, learn, and empower others.

As we embark on this journey together, my aim is to cultivate an environment where every member of DEBESMSCAT feels valued, respected, and inspired to contribute their best. Together, we can achieve more than any one person could on their own.

I firmly believe that by fostering a culture of teamwork, we can overcome challenges, spark innovation, and bring about transformative change. Each of us possesses unique talents and perspectives that, when combined, form a powerful force for progress. By embracing diversity, encouraging collaboration, and fostering open communication, we can create a vibrant community that thrives on shared achievements.
