The DEBESMSCAT School of Graduate Studies and Research (SGSR) successfully conducted ED TALK 2026: An Academic Forum on Educational Leadership, Policy, and Innovation on August 1, 2026, at the DEBESMSCAT Function Hall.
The forum brought together graduate students, educators, school administrators, researchers, and education professionals for a meaningful exchange of ideas on current issues, emerging trends, and innovative practices in educational leadership, policy, and research.
The program formally opened with the preliminaries, followed by a welcome message from Dr. Elreen A. Delavin, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who underscored the importance of research, innovation, and continuous professional development in strengthening educational leadership and improving the quality of education.
The academic forum featured four distinguished speakers who shared their expertise on timely and relevant educational topics. Ric Gerald F. Tompong discussed the integration of artificial intelligence in educational leadership and teaching-learning engagement, highlighting how AI can enhance instructional delivery and institutional management. Febie Rose T. Basas presented an equity audit on the implementation of inclusive education in Masbate, emphasizing the importance of ensuring equitable access to quality education for every learner. Erosto B. Andaya Jr. explored globalization and comparative educational reforms, providing valuable insights from the Schools Division Office of Masbate and their implications for the Philippine education system. Anthony Nepomuceno examined the gap between policy and practice in the implementation of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan, offering practical recommendations for strengthening educational programs and service delivery.
The presentations were followed by a panel feedback session, where experts provided constructive comments and recommendations that enriched the discussions and encouraged participants to further strengthen their research and professional practice.
The program was smoothly facilitated by Mr. Jared Sia, who served as the forum moderator and master of ceremonies, ensuring engaging discussions throughout the event.
