The Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) continued its active participation on the second day of the State Universities and Colleges–Association of Colleges of Agriculture in the Philippines (SUC-ACAP), Inc. Strategic Planning and Innovation Workshop for the Agriculture Higher Education Program on Friday, July 10, at Sorsogon State University.
Day 2 focused on translating strategic directions into concrete and actionable plans to strengthen agriculture higher education across the country. Participants engaged in collaborative workshops and technical discussions on developing future-ready agriculture programs and integrating micro-credential initiatives into academic curricula. The sessions were led by Dr. Ria Valerie Cabanes, Director of the Quality Assurance Office of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), while Dr. Amado A. Angeles, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Food Science of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), shared evidence-based strategies for improving Agriculture Licensure Examination (ALE) performance.
The collaborative outputs of the activity are expected to serve as a roadmap for member institutions in producing competent, innovative, and globally competitive agriculture professionals while supporting sustainable agricultural development in the country.
