
On February 6, 2025, the Provincial Science and Technology – Masbate paid a visit to the Research and Development Services Office of DEBESMSCAT, marking a moment in the college’s commitment to innovation and technology transfer. The visit was centered around Department of Science and Technology’s latest initiative, TECHGROW Project: Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship Collaboration and Harmonization of Growing Regional Opportunities on Wealth Creation, a project aimed at promoting the commercialization of government-funded technologies. This initiative aligns seamlessly with DEBESMSCAT’s mission to drive research and development (R&D) that contributes to progress and economic growth.



The meeting emphasized the college’s dedication to enriching partnerships by bridging academic research to real-world applications, ensuring that innovative solutions reach communities and industries. The alignment meeting was led by PST Director Josie D. Albao and Engr. Noli M. Esperas, Jr., PTAsst IV of DOST-V, and attended by DEBESMSCAT’s faculty-researchers and inventors, including the Director of the Research and Development Services, Dr. Alvin M. Mahawan and IPTBM Officer Engr. Marco Angelo R. Dejucos. Together, they explored research opportunities within DEBESMSCAT and across the province of Masbate emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving shared goals.



This meeting highlighted the collective effort of DEBESMSCAT and DOST V to harness the potential of Intellectual Property, Technology Business Management, and Innovation (IPTBM) in creating sustainable wealth and development for the region. By aligning their mandates, both institutions aim to empower local communities, support entrepreneurship, and drive the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development.
