In a grand celebration of academic achievement, the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) held its 28th Commencement Exercises at the Main Campus on June 16, 2023 and the 7th Commencement Exercises at the Cawayan Campus on June 17, 2023. The ceremonies serve as perfect avenues in commemorating and celebrating the achievement, hard work, perseverance, resilience, and graduates of the Graduating Class of 2023 as they successfully completed their degrees and titles.
At the Main Campus, the graduates were welcomed by a jubilant atmosphere as friends, families, and esteemed guests gathered to witness this significant milestone in the lives of the graduating class. The ceremony featured a powerful and inspiring keynote speech by the 3rd District Representative of Masbate, Hon. Wilton Tan Kho, who shared his personal journey as a public servant and encouraged the graduates to embrace every opportunity that comes their way.
The Main Campus ceremony also featured Words of Gratitude from Apple Grace P. Pialago, Cum Laude, who extended her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who became a big part of their academic journey and she emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in an ever-changing world. The heartwarming speech ended with endless gratitude to their parents who supported their academic endeavors all the way.
On the other hand, at the Cawayan Campus, an equally momentous event unfolded. The graduates, along with their loved ones, filled the venue with excitement and pride. The commencement speaker, Hon. Kristine Salve Hao-Kho, municipal mayor of Mandaon, captivated the audience with her insightful speech. Mayor Kristine also highlighted the significance of seizing opportunities in addressing challenges and encouraged the graduates to become proactive in reaching their goals.
The Words of Gratitude was delivered by Arman V. Ompoc, Graduating class 2023, Outstanding Student Awardee. The speech was filled with genuine emotions and endless gratitude to their parents and teachers who paved the path for them to stay motivated and finished their degrees.
Certainly, the commencement ceremonies were not only a celebration of academic accomplishment but also a testament to the resilience and determination of the DEBESMSCAT community amidst the challenges brought by the Pre- and Post- Covid Era.
