The Quality Assurance (QA) Team of the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) carried out another benchmarking activity at Batangas State University (BatStateU) on February 4, 2026, as part of its continued efforts to strengthen institutional quality systems and align with best practices in higher education.
The DEBESMSCAT delegation was welcomed by the BatStateU Quality Assurance Management (QAM) Office led by Dr. Agnes D. Arellano, QAM Director, together with key university officials, including Dr. Charmaine Rose R. Triviño, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Expedito V. Acorda, Chancellor of BatStateU–Pablo Borbon; Dr. Teodorica G. Ani, Director for External Affairs; Dr. Camilo C. Alulod, Assistant Director for Local Partnership; and Dr. Celso G. Zara, Head of QAM–Pablo Borbon, along with members of the QAM staff.
Messages of appreciation were exchanged by the Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs of both institutions, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to share experiences and best practices.
The officials also conveyed their hope that the benchmarking engagement would serve as a foundation for future academic and institutional collaboration between DEBESMSCAT and BatStateU.
Dr. Arellano then presented BatStateU’s quality assurance best practices, highlighting the university’s journey toward major recognitions such as the Philippine Quality Award (PQA), institutional accreditation, and ISO certification.
She emphasized that these accomplishments were the result of years of preparation, strong leadership, and the collective efforts of the university workforce in sustaining a culture of quality and excellence.
