DEBESMSCAT President Participates in AUN-QA Program Assessment Training in Bangkok

Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, President of DEBESMSCAT, participated in the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance or AUN-QA Training Course: Program Assessment, Version 4.0. The training, held for Batch 20 from August 27 to 30, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand, and brought together academic leaders with quality assurance professionals around the ASEAN region.

The AUN-QA training is highly recognized in the land for its exhaustive coverage of quality assurance in higher education, focusing on the latest standards and practices. The participation of Dr. Millesca to this training only means how determined he is with his DAMGO to make DEBESMSCAT educational offerings pass international benchmark standards.

During the 4-days training, Dr. Millesca learned the elements of the quality assurance ecosystem: how critical components relate to one another in maintaining and enhancing standards of education. The training also discussed the AUN-QA Program Assessment Model, learning its criteria and requirements for compliance. This will lead to deep understanding of how the model works and enable the institutions to align their academic programs to AUN-QA standards effectively.

One of the focuses of the training was the utilization of the 4As iterative framework in implementing assessments about the AUN-QA program. Dr. Millesca was taught how to be able to implement this 4As framework continuously in the area of maintenance of the quality programs, which would keep DEBESMSCAT at the top in educational excellence.

With this training, it is expected that active engagement therein shall have a significant bearing on DEBESMSCAT’s academic programs by Dr. Millesca. He would be sufficiently capable of leading the university in refining its academic offerings, installing robust quality assurance mechanisms, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement by bringing back advanced quality assurance techniques.
