DEBESMSCAT inks partnership with top Indonesian HEI Brawijaya University

DEBESMSCAT, under the leadership of President Arnel Millesca and represented by Mr. Alvin Mahawan and Ms. Daisy Jean Castillo, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for international collaboration with Universitas Brawijaya, a top higher education institution (HEI) in Indonesia, earlier today (October 10, 2024).

The Memorandum of Understanding for the international collaboration between DEBESMSCAT and Universitas Brawijaya provided for the following areas for action: 1) staff and faculty mobility, 2) graduate and undergraduate student mobility, 3) exchange of scientific material, publication, and information, 4) cultural exchange, 5) joint conferences and academic programs, and 6) joint research activity and publication.

The two HEIs also agreed that the specific arrangements for the said areas for action shall be established through a memorandum of agreement (MOA). Thus, alongside the MOU signing, an MOA was also immediately signed for the development of information technology and computer science between the two institutions. In the said MOA, the activity shall primarily involve the Universitas Brawijaya Faculty of Computer Science and the DEBESMSCAT College of Arts and Sciences and College of Engineering.

Universitas Brawijaya is an autonomous state university in Malang, East Java in Indonesia. According to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025, Universitas Brawijaya is ranked between 801st and 850th worldwide and 49th in Asia, making it the 5th best university in Indonesia. In the MOU and MOA signing, they are represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science Prof. Ir. Wayan Firdaus Mahmudy, S. S., MT, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Eng. Herman Tolle, ST, MT, and Head of the Faculty of Computer Science International Relations Office M. Ali Fauzi, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D.
