DEBESMSCAT inks partnership with SEAMEO for the SEA-Teacher Project Batch 2024

July 23, 2024 – DEBESMSCAT and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) signed a letter of agreement for the former’s participation in the 10th Batch of the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia Project (SEA-Teacher Project). The project aims to attract 3rd or 4th year Education students from its partner universities and colleges for a student teacher exchange program and is targeted to be implemented from August 5, 2024 to August 1, 2025.

In the exchange program, the student teacher participants shall participate in classroom observations and perform assisted teaching for a minimum of 20 hours. As of July 2024, the SEA-Teacher Project has already partnered with 47 higher education institutions (HEIs) in Indonesia, 65 HEIs in the Philippines, 4 HEIs in Thailand, and 1 HEI in Vietnam. For this partnership, SEAMEO was represented by Director Datu Dr Habibah Abdul Rahim, while DEBESMSCAT was represented by President Arnel B. Millesca.
