DEBESMSCAT goes PQA

The DEBESMSCAT key officials headed by the SUC President Dr. Arnel B. Millesca attended the 5-day training on Philippine Quality Award delivered by the Development Academy of the Philippines. Among the attendees are Dr. Rodolfo B. Burac, Jr., Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Bernard M. Barruga, Dean, College of Education, Dr. Engr. Arnold I. Malag, Dean, College of Engineering, Dr. Engr. Elmo C. Rapsing, Jr., Dean, College of Industrial Technology, Dr. Donata L. Valler, Dean, College of Agriculture, Dr. Cesar D. Almomicar, Dean, College of Education, Cawayan Campus, Mr. Dennis Corlet, Placement Officer and Mr. Mark Jay Montilla, Internal Auditor of the College.

The training aims to: (1) promote standards in organizational performance comparable to those of leading business abroad, pursuant to the country’s effort to be globally competitive; (2) establish a national system for assessing quality and productivity performance, thus providing local organizations regardless of size, sector and maturity with criteria and guidelines for self-assessment to guide their quality and productivity improvement efforts; and (3) recognize organizations in both the private and public sector which excel in quality management and overall organizational performance, thus providing Philippine industries with benchmarks and models to emulate. The 5 day training was hybrid due to the onslaught of typhoon Carina where some parts of Metro Manila were flooded.

Nevertheless, all activities were actively participated by the DEBESMSCAT participants particularly on the report writing and management of learning. The whole duration of the training was fun-filled but full of learnings. The training was conducted last July 22-26, 2024 at the Development Academy of the Philippines, Pasig City. This training is a continued effort of the President as part of his DAMGO for the institution in its pursuit of academic excellence as well as to make the DEBESMSCAT at par with other SUCs in terms of delivering quality services to its clienteles.
