DEBESMSCAT Strengthens Disaster Preparedness in First Quarter NSED 2025

DEBESMSCAT reaffirmed its commitment to disaster preparedness by conducting the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) earlier today, March 13, 2025, at exactly 3:00 PM. The drill aimed to enhance the institution’s emergency response and ensure the safety of students and employees in the event of an earthquake.

Leading the exercise was DEBESMSCAT’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (DRRMO) designate, Mr. Wilfred Pagorogon, who acted as the Incident Commander. Under his directive, ROTC officers played a crucial role in maintaining order and executing emergency protocols. The head of the medical unit, Dr. Anabel Loraña, showcased the team’s preparedness by carefully assessing and providing first-aid assistance to simulated victims during the drill.

Following the activity, BFP OIC Designate, SFO1 Alvin M. Dela Peña, provided an assessment of the institution’s overall performance. He acknowledged the significant improvement from the previous quarter’s NSED and highlighted only minor areas for further enhancement.

In his closing remarks, DEBESMSCAT President, Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, emphasized the institution’s unwavering commitment to disaster preparedness. He assured the community that the college will continue to refine its emergency response strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of all stakeholders in times of calamity.
