Cawayan, Philippines—November 18, 2024—The DEBESMSCAT Cawayan Campus recently underwent an online accreditation for a revisit of three (3) programs and a Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP). The revisit focused on three (3) programs namely:
- Bachelor of Elementary Education
- Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English
- Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
They were originally accredited in 2022, but required a follow-up assessment to thoroughly address areas of concern and improvement. In addition, a preliminary survey visit was also conducted for one (1) program (Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology major in Electrical and Electronics Technology) to assess its readiness for a higher level of accreditation.
The three (3) revisited programs were met with rigorous assessment and evaluation following the initial recommendations given in 2022. While these programs were able to achieve the standards set by AACCUP, a series of validation and evaluation were conducted through out the 5-day visit. Cawayan Campus was able to show the strategies and work they did to address the gaps identified from the past years.
Prof. Iris B. Castillo, Cawayan Campus Administrator, stated in her opening remarks that, “quality is never an accident, but a result of intelligent efforts” acknowledging the efforts of the local task force in their relentless work to achieve quality and excellence in the Campus.
The accreditation team, composed of experts through Dr. Annalene Co, overall coordinator, commended the institution for their unwavering commitment, passion, and persistence for a culture of quality and excellence as well as the transparency and openness of their counterparts which helped in the thorough facilitation of the accreditation process.
Dr. Millesca, SUC President III, ensured the accreditation team the embrace of the recommendations given and its compliance for the commitment to advance to a higher level of accreditation.
The results of the revisit and the preliminary survey visit will be awaited in the coming months after the consolidation of ratings, however the DEBESMSCAT Cawayan Campus remains optimistic that their efforts will significantly improve their campus and allow for the full realization of their academic goals.
