Building and Upgrading Literacy in Grade School Through Storytelling

On February 27, 2025, in a significant step toward advancing literacy, the DEBESMSCAT-Cawayan Campus Teacher Education Institute(TEI) launched its second wave of project ISTORYA: Building and Upgrading Literacy in Grade School Through Storytelling at Behia Elementary School, Begia, Cawayan, Masbate.

As the project designed to cultivate reading skills among young learners through storytelling, the program also extends its reach to parents and teachers, equipping them with necessary skills and strategies to actively support their children’s education.

Dr. Cesar D. Almonicar Jr., the Dean of Teacher Education Institute and Ms. Carla L. Amarille, the Department Head of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) and Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) shared their expertise and provided different strategies.
